5. Contrast the single-defendant case with one in which the accomplice is one of multiple defendants in a single criminal trial. In such a case, it is proper to instruct that to the extent a codefendant's testimony tends to incriminate a defendant, it should be viewed with care and caution and is subject to the corroboration requirement.
