Defence counsel submitted that the law does not provide that the circumstances of the parties into their 70’s and 80’s must be equivalent. Counsel said that the law does not support the proposition that the parties’ incomes must be equalized because of the length of the marriage: See Graves v. Graves, 2001 BCSC 1081.
