A disparity in incomes with a substantial increase in one party’s income can also constitute a significant change in circumstances warranting a variation: Jennens, Olson v. Olson, 2020 BCSC 618 at para. 31.
Treatment of post-separation increases in a payor’s earnings is ultimately a matter of discretion for the court, and each case must be determined on its own facts: Thompson v. Thompson, 2013 ONSC 5500 at para. 103.
