doubt. (Victor v. Nebraska (1994) 511 U.S. 1, 5, 114 S.Ct. 1239, 127 L.Ed.2d 583 [The government must prove beyond a reasonable doubt every element of a charged offense].) The prosecutor, however, left the jury with the impression that so long as her interpretation of the evidence was reasonable, the People had met their burden. The failure of the prosecutor's reasoning is manifest.
