The law is settled that the appropriate date to value matrimonial property for the purpose of distribution is the date of trial. See Hodgson v. Hodgson (2005), 361 A.R. 190, 2005 ABCA 13. The parties obtained real property evaluations as at March 2004 which were used by both parties as the valuations at date of trial even though the trial did not occur until 14 months later. 2.
