How has the court determined early retirement income for a father who takes early retirement from a hospital and private practice?

British Columbia, Canada

The following excerpt is from M.A.V.B. v. S.J.H., 2003 BCSC 1287 (CanLII):

In Bradford v. Leckie, [2002] O.J. No. 3222 (S.C.J.), the father took early retirement at age 56 from a position at a psychiatric hospital. He also had a small private practice. The court considered his age, education, work experience and obligations in respect of his children, and imputed income equalling the amount in his pensions plus the court’s estimate of his potential income from private practice.
