In this case, applying the decision in Baziuk v. Shelley, supra, I find that the defendant is an employee for the purposes of s. 67 of the Local Government Act and find that the defendant does not fall within the exemption provided for under the Volunteer Eligibility for Office Regulation since it requires that the volunteer not receive monetary compensation from a municipality or regional district.
