The following excerpt is from Ball v. Broger, 2010 ONCJ 557 (CanLII):

[28] Emily’s first submission is that she has not withdrawn from parental control because she remains under the parental control of her father. Her evidence is the following: she remains in daily contact with her father, he advises her on issues about school, her health and her mother, they have a good relationship and he supports her emotionally and financially. Emily argued that a child has not withdrawn from parental control where he or she retains the emotional and financial support of one of the parents. The court in Irving v. Powell, supra, wrote at paragraph [34]:
