The following excerpt is from Salyer v. County of Los Angeles, 116 Cal.Rptr. 27, 42 Cal.App.3d 866 (Cal. App. 1974):
Petitioner contends, first, that the exclusionary rule applies to disciplinary proceedings, and, second, that the evidence taken from his car [42 Cal.App.3d 874] was inadmissible because the search was unlawful. We need not decide whether the exclusionary rules applies to a police disciplinary proceeding (see Emslie v. State Bar, 11 Cal.3d 210, 229--230, 113 Cal.Rptr. 175, 520 P.2d 991), since, in any event, the search was lawful.
