Is there a distinction between a disabled employee whose disability is caused or contributed to chronic alcoholism and other disabled employees?

Saskatchewan, Canada

The following excerpt is from Saskatchewan (Department of Finance) v. Saskatchewan (Human Rights Commission), 2002 SKQB 501 (CanLII):

The first of the questions to be addressed as set out in Law v. Canada, supra, is whether there is a distinction between disabled employees, whose disability is caused or contributed to by chronic alcoholism, and other disabled employees. It seems manifestly apparent that there is a distinction: disabled alcoholic employees are excluded from coverage unless under active treatment.
