In Chera v. Chera, 2008 BCSC 465, aff’d 2008 BCCA 374, the facts were similar to this case. The wife was claiming unjust enrichment against paternal grandparents for her contributions to the household while the parties lived with the husband's parents in their home. The court held there was neither enrichment nor deprivation. The only potential enrichment to the grandparents would have been an increase in the value of the home, but the wife's activities did not contribute to that. Furthermore she was not deprived by contributing to the family's household.
