Although the People's case was not weak, "there is no way to ever define just what quantum of evidence is necessary to convince a jury beyond a reasonable doubt of a defendant's guilt." (People v. Accardy (1960) 184 Cal.App.2d 1, 4.) Even where the defense is weak, that does not make the evidence that should have been suppressed unimportant. (See People v. Scott (1978) 21 Cal.3d 284, 295-296.)
