What is the test for the exclusion of bias in evidence to rehabilitate a witness who was impeached for bias?

The trial court has discretion to exclude evidence of bias. It must weigh the probative value of the evidence against its prejudicial impact and against the possibility the jury will use the evidence improperly. United States v. Diecidue, 603 F.2d 535 (5th Cir. 1979). This test has been equated with the relevancy test performed under Rule 403 of the Federal Rules of Evidence. Id.
