To meet the "reasonable belief" standard, "a plaintiff must show not only [1] that he [or she] believed that the conduct constituted a violation, but also [2] that a reasonable person in his [or her] position would have believed that the conduct constituted a violation." Nielsen v. AECOM Tech. Corp. , 762 F.3d 214, 221 (2d Cir. 2014) (internal quotation marks omitted). In other words, the term "reasonable belief contains both subjective and objective components." Id. "The objective prong of the reasonable belief test focuses on the basis of knowledge available to a reasonable person in the circumstances with the employees training and experience." Id .
