The court denied defendant's motion under People v. Superior Court (Romero) (1996) 13 Cal.4th 497, and sentenced him to an aggregate term of nine years in state prison. The court selected count 1 ( 203; mayhem) as the base term and imposed nine yearsthe low term of two years, doubled for the strike prior, plus five years for the serious-felony prior ( 667, subd. (a)(1)), to run consecutively. The court imposed four years for count 2the low term of two years, doubled for the strike priorbut stayed execution of the sentence under section 654.
