8 However, it is important to recognize that individuals in public places cannot expect the same degree of protection from contact with others as they are entitled to in their own homes. " 'The man who goes . . . to a public place must expect to meet and mingle with all classes of people. He cannot ask, to suit his caprice or prejudice or social views, that this or that man shall be excluded because he does not wish to associate with them.'
