Citing Amato v. Welsh, 2013 ONCA 258, the appellant argues that the principle of civil immunity in respect of evidence given in court is subject to exceptions. That case considered the interaction between a lawyer’s fiduciary duties to a client and witness immunity attaching to a lawyer for statements made in court. It does not stand for any general proposition that challenges the existence of a broad immunity in respect of statements given in evidence.
