Is a mother entitled to spousal support on a fixed term basis?

Taking into account all of the relevant factors the mother is entitled to spousal support on a fixed term basis. As a result of this decision she will become the access parent thus allowing her to re-enter the work force at twenty seven without the impediments of child care during the work week. The father, meanwhile, will assume full financial responsibility for the children given that at present the mother does not work. However, each spouse must strive to attain financial self-sufficiency if it is practicable to do so. Fischer v. Fischer [2001] N.S.J. No. 32 (N.S.C.A.) There would appear to be no other impediments to the mother immediately returning to the workforce in some capacity.
