How has the court considered the normal contingencies of life expectancy?

Saskatchewan, Canada

The following excerpt is from McKay v. Govan School, 1967 CanLII 430 (SK CA):

Closely associated with the question of life expectancy of this plaintiff, is the consideration of the normal contingencies of life. The learned judge did refer thereto, particularly and largely in his quotation from Warren v. King, supra. This succinct quotation, approaching an outline or definition of the factors involved, when considered with the tenor of his whole address, fails, I think, to set forth these factors or to stress the same in a manner ensuring their consideration by the jury as points of some major consideration in their calculations.
