In effect, the Licensee defrauded Clients A and B using his licence to provide legal services. In doing so, the Licensee tarnished all who carry the same licence and raised doubt among the public on the honesty and integrity of the paralegal profession. As stated in Law Society of Upper Canada v. Christie, 2017 ONLSTH 4 at para. 37, the dishonesty of licensees has a “corrosive impact on public confidence in the legal profession and the administration of justice.”
