What is the appropriate date for setting a date for a claim against a payor parent?

British Columbia, Canada

The following excerpt is from Geboers v Geboers, 2018 BCSC 181 (CanLII):

However, where there has been blameworthy conduct on the part of the payor parent, as I have found here, it is appropriate to set the date as at the time when circumstances changed materially: D.B.S. at para. 125. This date should be no more than three years back from the date the payor parent received notice of the claim: D.B.S. at para. 123; Negus v. Negus, 2011 BCSC 673 at para. 43.
