The close relationship of a witness to a party is a relevant factor to be considered. However, the testimony of interested persons should not be disregarded or unduly discounted simply on the ground that the person has a personal or financial relationship to a party. I commented on this aspect of our law in greater detail in Leach v. Jesson, 2017 BCSC 577 at paras. 51 to 55.
