In a case relied on by the respondents, Sukul v. Canada Hindu Satsangh Organization, [2008] O.J. No. 4958, 173 A.C.W.S. (3d) 587 (S.C.J.), the court ordered an expedited trial of an issue to determine eligible voters in a general membership meeting of a religious organization. The order was made on a motion for an injunction made nine days before the date of the proposed meeting. Less than two months earlier, the court had made an order on consent of the two same parties reinstating certain members and directing an election to be held.
