What is the range of damages for non-pecuniary damages in a personal injury case?

British Columbia, Canada

The following excerpt is from Pavan v. Guolo, 2016 BCSC 324 (CanLII):

The factors to consider when assessing the amount to award for non-pecuniary damages are set out in Stapley v. Hejslet, 2006 BCCA 34. In the circumstances here, the most important factors include the nature of the injuries, the severity and duration of the symptoms, the impact of the injuries on the plaintiff's recreational activities and on his family, marital and social relationships. I have set out my findings on these issues above.
