What is the range of discretionary s.7 expenses for a child with special educational needs?

British Columbia, Canada

The following excerpt is from Lipskaya v. Guo, 2022 BCCA 118 (CanLII):

Unlike baseline Guidelines support, s. 7 expenses are discretionary. The availability of s. 7 expenses depends on various factors including the parents’ combined income and the nature and number of the child’s special activities, needs, and talents. They must be necessary having regard to the child’s best interests, and reasonable having regard to the parents’ means and spending pattern prior to separation: Santelli v. Trinetti, 2019 BCCA 319 at para. 151.
