I note that a party’s remarriage may impact that party’s entitlement to needs-based spousal support (Lochhead at para. 40). The effect that remarriage may have on the needs of a former spouse was discussed in Kelly v. Kelly, 2007 BCSC 227 at paras. 47-50. In the course of deciding that the plaintiff’s entitlement to spousal support should expire, Barrow J. commented as follows:
