Restraining orders are usually issued by the court on an interim or interlocutory basis, and permanent restraining orders are usually issued only when there is a serious indication of violence, unruly conduct or conduct amounting to harassment. In Pendleton v. Pendleton, 2010 BCSC 1167, Barrow J. said:
