Defendant's reference to section 784.7 is a red herring. Nonetheless, if we consider his argument, we reject it for the following reasons. First, section 288.2 is not identified as one of the listed sex crimes. Second, defendant's interpretation of section 784.7 is inconsistent with its purpose, which is "to permit offenses occurring in different counties to be consolidated so that a victim may be spared having to testify in multiple trials in different counties."
