Moreover, rather than being "crucial" (Davis v. Alaska, supra, 415 U.S. at p. 310, 94 S.Ct. 1105), this witness was minor in the context of the entire case. Even assuming the court permitted the prosecution to elicit too much information, and the defense too little, we would find the error harmless under any standard.
