45. Although, of course, it is the law as given by the court and not the attorneys' arguments that controland defendant's jurors were instructed to follow the law as explained by the court, even if the attorneys' comments conflicted with the instructionswe consider the arguments of counsel in assessing the probable impact of a purportedly ambiguous or erroneous instruction on the jury.
