How have the courts dealt with the issue of whether the court erred in denying defendant's petition?

California, United States of America

The following excerpt is from People v. Peerman, E073005 (Cal. App. 2019):

Counsel has filed a brief under the authority of People v. Wende (1979) 25 Cal.3d 436 and Anders v. California (1967) 386 U.S. 738, setting forth a statement of the case and identifying one potentially arguable issue: whether the court erred in denying defendant's petition. Defendant was offered the opportunity to file a personal supplemental brief, which he has done. Defendant contends the jury convicted him under both a theory of felony murder and the natural and probable consequences doctrine; hence, he maintains the court erred in denying his petition. We affirm.
