In Newman v. Burwell (1932) 216 Cal. 608, 15 P.2d 511, the contention was made that the obligation of the decedent under a property settlement agreement entered into with his wife to support their minor child constituted a purely personal obligation which terminated upon his death precluding any claim against his estate.
