Lopez (2004) 119 Cal.App.4th 132 (Lopez), ruled that separate punishments for possession of a firearm and possession of ammunition inside the gun violated section 654. The court reasoned that since all of the ammunition was loaded into one firearm, both offenses comprised an indivisible course of conduct. (Lopez, supra, 119 Cal.App.4th at pp. 137-138.)
