In the assessment of general damages, the court will consider, inter alia, the following factors: (a) the plaintiff’s age; (b) the nature of the injury; (c) the severity and duration of pain; (d) disability; (e) emotional suffering; (f) loss or impairment of life; (g) impairment of family, marital, and social relationships; (h) impairment of physical and mental abilities; (i) loss of lifestyle; and (j) stoicism (as a factor for which the plaintiff should not be penalized): see Stapley v.
