CA), is cited by the respondent as authority for the proposition that even under the civil law of Quebec, the separation of voting rights and ownership of shares is permitted. I agree that the separation of voting rights and ownership of shares is permitted but it is only the ownership or title of shares conveyed to a trustee under the terms of the binding trust that creates a trust relationship.
