Is there any case law where a class member has to make a decision about whether to join a class action in a different jurisdiction?

British Columbia, Canada

The following excerpt is from Bartram et al v. GlaxoSmithKline Inc. et al., 2015 BCSC 315 (CanLII):

Counsel for the defendants raises the potential problem, referred to in Ring v. Canada (Attorney General), 2008 NLTD 168, of class members having to decide whether to opt in or opt out of this action before being able to assess whether their interests will be better served by joining a class action in another jurisdiction.
