It is incorrect in law to determine the father’s income for 2018 based almost entirely on the father’s interest and dividend income only. The court has a duty to ensure that a child support order reflects the parent’s true income. The fundamental principle is that the court must estimate the actual means which the paying parent has available for child support. See Manis v. Manis, [2000] O.J. No. 4539 (S.C.J.)
