With respect to monthly child support, a reasonable approach where a child is away at university for part of the year, but continues to have a “home base” with one parent, is that adopted by Herman J. in Albert v. Albert, supra. In that case, although Herman J. did not have evidence of the mother’s additional costs to maintain her home while the children were away, she was prepared to accept that there were costs to do so. She awarded full Table support for vacation periods and a reduced amount for periods when each child was away at university.
