I do not consider this one of those exceptional cases where the court should exercise its inherent jurisdiction and set the amount: see Buchan v. Moss Management Inc., 2010 BCCA 393, 9 B.C.L.R. (5th) 276 at paras. 13 and 30. In the result, in the Chandi matter I would refer the matter of the appropriate rate back to the registrar.
