In R v. Kidd , [2004] ABPC 100, the accused pleaded guilty to evasion without causing bodily harm, as well as dangerous and impaired operation of a motor vehicle. He had a related but dated record. The accused drove his vehicle at a police officer who was able to step aside. He then sped away, knocking down construction signs, finally blowing his tires after hitting a curb. He received concurrent sentences of 18 months.
