The following excerpt is from 85956 Holdings Ltd. v. Fayerman Brothers Limited, 1987 CanLII 4788 (SK QB):

The plaintiff would have to adduce evidence as to the fair value of the shares in the first instance. The defendant then would have an opportunity to adduce evidence as to the fair value of the shares. The court is empowered to appoint one or more appraisers to assist it in fixing the fair value of the shares (s. 184(1) (22)). See: Denischuk v. Bonn Energy Corporation (1984), 1983 CanLII 2380 (SK QB), 29 Sask. R. 156.
