The following excerpt is from The People v. Araniva, B218787, No. VA106834 (Cal. App. 2010):
We conclude that the instructions, taken as a whole, did not mislead the jury. (People v. Smithey (1999) 20 Cal.4th 936, 963.) The jury was adequately instructed on the required mental state of an aider and abettor to attempted murder, and it is not reasonably likely that CALCRIM No. 601 confused the jury on this point.
