The following excerpt is from People v. Sime, 61 Misc.3d 896, 85 N.Y.S.3d 363 (N.Y. Crim. Ct. 2018):
The search warrant and application state that the specific offenses were Unlawful Disclosure of an Intimate Image, Attempted Unlawful Disclosure of an Intimate Image, conspiracies and attempts to commit those crimes, as well as the highly disfavored language "and related crimes" (see People v. Thompson , 51 Misc.3d 693, 704, 28 N.Y.S.3d 237 [Sup. Ct., N.Y. County 2016] and the cases cited therein).6 The defense did not raise whether the warrant was overbroad due to this "and related crimes" language.
