No case directly construing the present ambit of the statutory regulations has been brought to the attention of the court or found by it. A case, decided prior to the aforesaid 1953 amendment of the statute, and somewhat proximate to the one at bar, was that of People v. Sullivan, 303 N.Y. 757, 103 N.E.2d 542.
