The Attorney General interprets this passage as a waiver which precludes defendant from raising on appeal the factual issue whether the court correctly awarded credits. "The reason for this rule, of course, is that 'the trial court should be given an opportunity to correct the [mistake]....' [Citations.]" (People v. Green (1980) 27 Cal.3d 1, 164 Cal.Rptr. 1, 609 P.2d 468.)
