Section 269 was enacted to increase the punishment for certain enumerated forcible sexual acts where there is substantial age disparity between the offender and the minor victim. (People v. Jimenez (2000) 80 Cal.App.4th 286, 291.) The statute requires a sentence of 15 years to life for any defendant who commits specified sexual offenses against a child under the age of 14 where the defendant is 10 or more years older than the victim.
