Does a warehouseman have an insurable interest in a consignment that is insured in his own name?

Saskatchewan, Canada

The following excerpt is from Goulding v. Norwich Union Fire Insurance Society, 1947 CanLII 156 (SK QB):

In Waters v. Monarch Fire & Life Assur. Co., supra, the plaintiff was a warehouseman who received goods for storage and also an consignment. He insured in his own name for their full value. It was held that he had an insurable interest in that he had a lien on the goods for storage charges and would be liable to the owners if the goods were destroyed by his negligence.
