Is a widow's contribution to the estate of a deceased testator invalid when the widow has made no contribution to his will?

Nova Scotia, Canada

The following excerpt is from Rafuse Estate, Re, 1990 CanLII 7932 (NS SC):

In Garrett v. Zwicker, MacKeigan C.J.N.S. [at p. 122], found it was irrelevant that the widow had made no contribution to the testator's assets because she was "relying on the will as expressing and carrying out what she claims is the testator's moral obligation toward her".
