Is there any case law where the term “total pay” is ambiguous?

New Brunswick, Canada

The following excerpt is from New Brunswick Union of Public and Private Employees v The Atlantic Provinces Special Education Authority, 2012 CanLII 85144 (NB LA):

20. The union submitted that the collective agreement was not ambiguous and therefore the evidence of past practice is not helpful. In support of this proposition counsel for the union noted that in one case the learned arbitrator found that the term “total pay” was not ambiguous (Re: Pure Metal Galvanizing v. U.S.W.A., [1990], 11 L.A.C. (4th) 71 (McLaren)).
