What is the test for rolling an agreement into a consent judgment?

Alberta, Canada

The following excerpt is from Angeltvedt v. Lawes, 1994 CanLII 9255 (AB QB):

Of course the parties could have rolled the agreement into a consent judgment. That would certainly fit within rule 74. The third party would be entitled to notice of that application: Canadian Pacific Limited v. Temreck (C.A. Calgary 13196, Jan. 26, 1993).
